Call for Applications to Tenure-track Faculty Positions in The Department of Cognitive and Brain Sciences

The Hebrew University’s department of brain and cognitive sciences invites outstanding candidates to apply for an open-rank tenure track position at the department. The academic rank will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications.

Research in the department focuses on understanding cognitive mechanisms, such as information processing and representation, perception, learning, decision making and language. In doing so, researchers in the department consider philosophical, social, computational and neuronal aspects of these mechanisms, and emphasize an integrative multi-disciplinary approach with neighboring disciplines, such as psychology, philosophy, linguistics, computer science and neurobiology.

The department will consider applicants with a PhD degree from any cognitive science sub-field. These include (but are not limited to):

(1) Cognitive neuroscience (either with a biological focus or otherwise)

(2) Computational cognitive science

(3) Cognitive psychology

(4) Research on pathology that has cognitive aspects

(5) Artificial intelligence and data science

(6) Language studies (including from psychological, neurological and philosophical perspectives that have a significant interface to cognitive aspects)

(5) Statement of research and teaching plans (up to three pages and according to guidelines)

(6) Teaching evaluations, if the applicant has such (from the past three years)

(7) Two representative publications

(8) Three letters of recommendation, to be submitted directly by recommender (According to guidelines)
